Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an appointment at your boutique?

Appointments are necessary to view bridal gowns; especially on weekends and during events. We want to make sure we can reserve a consultant to help you with all your needs! Of course, walk-in appointments are always welcome but a consultant may not be available to work with you one-on-one.

What if you do not have the dress I like in your store?

With some limitations, we can order any gown from any designer. If we carry the brand but do not have the dress in stock, we may even be able to get you a try-on gown so you have a chance to decide if it is the dress. Please call Brides & Weddings and one of our bridal consultants would be happy to assist you in tracking down your gown.

Ordering?

If apparel needs to be ordered, please take note of the timeline below to ensure we have time to outfit your entire wedding party.

  • Bride: 8-10 months
  • Bridesmaids: 6-8 months (all dresses ordered at the same time for dye lot variations)
  • Mothers: 4-6 months
  • Flower Girls: 6-8 months
  • Groomsmen: 2 months

This timeline does include time for alterations. We know that time is of the essence and we are happy to accommodate your schedule. We have planned weddings in as little as two weeks, so please consult with us about ordering outside these time frames and we are happy to accommodate you!

I’m getting married soon and don’t have time to order a dress – Help!

Don't worry! We have over a hundred in-store gowns for you to choose from that you can purchase and take home that same day. Most designers will also ship us bridal gowns and bridesmaids' dresses under a rush order. Call and speak with one of our consultants and we can help outfit your party in no time!

How do I know what size to order?

Each dress designer does vary and they each have their own size charts. Brides & Weddings will take your measurements and recommend the best size that matches the closest to the dress designer’s size chart. In the end, you get to make the final decision on the size you want to order. Dresses are not custom made, so please allow time for alterations if necessary.

Alterations?

Our excellent in-house alteration staff would be happy to assist you in getting the perfect fit. Alterations are additional, but we are happy to provide you with a quote before we get started and/or referrals for other seamstresses who provide alterations in the area. Please call ahead and schedule an appointment to reserve a time with our seamstress. For your bridal gown, your first fitting should be scheduled two months prior to your wear date and your second fitting two weeks prior to your wear date. We accommodate fittings on Thursdays, Fridays and select Saturdays. Please bring your undergarments and shoes to your appointments to ensure you are getting a proper fit.

What if I have a bridesmaid/groomsman who lives far away?

No problem! We can record her/his measurements over the phone and we can suggest the best size for them to order. We can even ship the bridesmaid her dress for an additional fee so she has time for alterations in her hometown.

Payment Policies?

We request that a 60% deposit be made at the time of purchasing your bridal gown. Full payment is due at the time of ordering/purchasing all other merchandise. Full payment is due before alterations begin or before the merchandise leaves our boutique.

Return/Cancellation Policy?

Due to the nature of our business, we do not accept returns on our merchandise once it has been purchased and/or ordered.
